Located on the south east side of Cyprus and famed for its sandy beaches including Fig Tree bay and Nissi, the Famagusta district is an ideal place to holiday for all ages. Whether it’s the peace and tranquillity of Kapparis or the bars and nightclubs of Protaras or Agia Napa with its fabulous water park which is one of the largest in Europe, Famagusta has it all. Why not take a visit to the aquarium or wildlife park, if you still have the energy.

Most of the beaches around Protaras and Agia Napa have jet-ski and watersports including paragliding trips for hire. Or how about testing your nerve with a bunji jump at Agia Napa, remember looking out as you jump the next stop is Syria!!

Known for the quality and richness of its red soil, giving locally grown produce its distinctive flavour, Famagusta simply is a must for all, that’s why our family live here.

Maybe you will decide to take a trip to Paralimni which is only 2miles from the apartment and enjoy the beauty of its churches whilst having a Frape (Cypriot traditional coffee) in the main square, leaving time to spend looking round the shops and boutiques. If you care to drive around the district, you will come across a number of picturesque Greek villages, located not too far from the apartment and watch the ladies making lace tablecloths and other items.

Kapparis area

Kapparis is a year round holiday destination, with its sandy coves and amenities including supermarket and bakery; you needn’t step outside the resort if you don’t want too. The fabulous restaurants and friendly bars are only a short walk from the apartment; there is even a look-out point to the deserted ‘ghost town’ of Famagusta which is situated in the Turkish occupied north. The contrast between the Greek side of the island and desolate northern half is unbelievable; it is like walking back in time 30 years. If you decide with visit the occupied north, we would suggest you take a guided tour which is bookable locally as hire cars rented in the south are not insured to travel over the border.

Kapparis is more residential than many of its closest neighbours, with apartments and villas not being swamped by high rise hotels, quiet simply as there are no high rise hotels in the resort.

Although Kapparis has a number of bars and excellent restaurants like many resorts, you are not donned by bright lights and noise as in the other Famagusta resorts like Protaras or Agia Napa. We do however suggest a trip to sample the nightlife, if you so choose.

If you enjoy walking or hiking, there are many trails and coastal pathways to follow like those which take you from Kapparis to Agia Napa. We are happy to supply guide books for a number of activities free of charge, in order to assist you.

From Larnaca airport the transfer time is about 45minutes and 2hrs 30mins from Paphos airport. Full directions will be included in our welcome pack once we have confirmed your booking. The apartment is located only a 10 minute drive from the nearest motorway.

A number of airlines fly to both Larnaca and Paphos from the UK, either on a scheduled or charter (seasonal only) service. It may be worth considering booking your outbound ticket with one airline and return ticket with another, as this can sometimes prove more cost effective. Remember to check both airlines return to the airport you departed from (if you require return to the same airport). Our guide to the airlines who fly into Cyprus is detailed below, please note that you should contact the respective airline or their website/representative to obtain the confirmed UK airports, flight times, costs and details.

Airlines flying from UK regional airports to Larnaca (scheduled and charter): British Airways, Cyprus Airways, Easyjet, Euro Cypria, First Choice, Fly Thomas Cook, Globespan, Jet2.com, Monarch and Thomson.

Airlines flying from UK regional airports to Paphos (scheduled and charter): Cyprus Airways, Easyjet, Euro Cypria, First Choice, Fly Thomas Cook, Globespan, Jet2.com and Thomson.

Guestbook for E4 Chromata Lagoon

June 09 we stayed at chromata lagoon (apartment E4), sleeping 6 comfortably. The accommodation was of an excellent standard boasting air conditioning in every room,a balcony overlooking the pool with full lenth balcony accessible from both bedrooms and the living room. Fully-fitted kitchen and washing facilities, dining area, TV, DVD and satellite. Accessible for limited mobility people as it is by lift and had designated parking. The pool area had plenty of sun beds and facilities, the pools would suit all ages and abilities. There are local amenities and beaches within walking distance. Larger beaches and Ayia Napa can be reached within 15 minutes either by taxi or car. I will definitely be staying there again and can thoroughly recommend this apartment and complex for people who prefer a quieter location which is still close enough to the larger resorts.
